Hitch and Weight Distribution Recommendation for a 2010 Toyota Highlander

Question:

Toyota Highlander 2010 with a full size spare tire. Oners manual says rated for 750 LB TW I can not decide between the Hidden hitch 87615 and Draw-Tite hitch 75726. Is there any advantage or quality issue of one over the other?

Expert Reply:

Either one would work very well for you. These hitches are both so similar that they share the same installation instructions (which I have attached for you). One does not have any advantage over the other.

Both the Hidden Hitch # 87615 and the Draw-Tite Max-E-Loader Trailer Hitch # 75726 have a 500 lb tongue weight rating without weight distribution and a tongue weight capacity of 750 lbs when used with weight distribution.

I attached an FAQ on weight distribution systems for you to check out also. For a weight distribution system I would recommend you get a Strait-Line Weight Distribution with Sway Control # RP66073. The most important factor to consider when picking out a weight distributions system is the tongue weight rating of your trailer. If you were towing a trailer with a tongue weight near the 750 capacity of your vehicle this system would work well for you.

This system also features an anti-sway system that works to proactively stop sway before it starts unlike most other systems. I attached installation instructions for this product for you to check out also.
