is there a solution for the upper bracket when the clearance between the beam flange and the inside of the tire is less than 4?

I reached out to my contact at Lippert and he said unfortunately if you don't have at least 4 inches of clearance between the I-beam flange and inside of the tire the Shock Kit # LC281281 cannot be used. There is not a solution that would allow this system to work properly.

For an alternate solution to provide additional suspension support for a smoother ride on the trailer I recommend the SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs # TSS-107-40. These springs will act as shock absorbers to reduce the load on the existing leaf springs and extend the life of the trailer's suspension components. It is designed for 3,000 to 5,000 pound axles and will fit as long as you have an overslung axle (leaf springs are on top of the axle).

I have attached a short video review along with the written installation instructions that you can check out as well.
