Would Taller Landing Gear be Solution for Trailer that Jacks Can't Lift High Enough to Connect
Question:
29.5inch landing gear legs on 2013 montana high country will not raise high enough to get on our 2015 F250 . Any suggestions? Not sure they are raising all the way. Can we purchase longer legs and will they fit in this unit? Thanks for any advice.

How much travel is your inner leg capable of moving when it's topped out? Can you measure distance from where the outer leg meets the inner leg when fully retracted to when it's all the way extended? A common amount of travel is around 20 inches or so.
The other issue that can be at play here is that your truck just sits too high and even if you could get the jacks up high enough the trailer would be sitting so high in the nose that you'd be unsafe. You'll need to consider how high the nose of the trailer would have to go to be the proper height for connection and whether that would allow the trailer to sit level or not. If this is the case best solution is to lift the suspension of the trailer to allow it to sit level.
You can do this by moving the axles from being above the leaf springs to below the leaf springs.
The diameter of your trailer axle will determine the size of the parts that you will need to order. If your axle is 3 inches diameter, the Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit, # K71-385-00, would be a great choice and if your axle is 2-3/8 inch diameter you could use the Over-Under Kit, # K71-384-00. These kits can be installed without welding but the manufacturer strongly recommends having the new spring seat tacked in place on the other side of the trailer axle.
