Recommendation for Reducing Wind Noise on MaxxTow Ladder Rack

The howling. I've got this mounted on a 2019 Ford F-150 crew cab 5.5’ bed. Any speed over 49 mph it doesn't just “whistle “ it HOWLS”. Any fixes for this? If not i have to return it its unbearable and the kids wont even ride with me if the racks on it hurts there ears. Its pretty bad. I have video of it if you like. Thank you in advance.

One of the main reasons the MaxxTow Truck Bed Ladder Rack # MT70423 for your 2019 Ford F-150 is howling is because the T-slot on the crossbars is open. What you can do is use the Top Channel Cover for Thule Xsporter Pro Load Bars # 852-5402-013 and insert that into the T-slot of the MaxxTow bars. Though it was designed for a Thule crossbar, it does fit the MaxxTow rack's T-slot.

This channel cover has what is called a "WindDiffuser textured surface" that is designed to minimize wind noise so it doesn't howl and your kids will once again be able to ride in your truck with you. This comes in a quantity of one so I recommend getting two, one for each crossbar.
