Recommended Firestone Air Springs for 2015 Ford F-250 4WD Towing 38-Foot Travel Trailer

Question:

I have a 2015 lariat f250 4x4 quad cab and I tow a 38’ travel trailer max weight 10500. Hitch is rated for 19000. I have a wdh rated for 1400 so if i times 10500 by 13 I’m good as far as tongue weight. My question is can/should I use airbags to help stabilize the load and lessen the bouncing on rough roads?

Yes, even though your F-250 and trailer appear to be properly leveled by installation of your Equal-i-zer weight distribution hitch you can still add rear air bags to the F-250 to help control the effects of the trailer's weight on the truck when you are on uneven road surfaces. Air springs and an on-board compressor will allow you to find the pressure "sweet spot" for stabilizing the towing system in any given driving conditions and to do this while you drive.

I recommend Firestone's no-drill kit # F2597 and Air Command compressor # F2097 which is a heavy-duty unit that you can mount using no-drill bracket # F2588. The only other item I suggest is a precision tube cutter # F9009 which will let you make perfectly square cuts to the included air line. Install videos for the air springs and compressor are linked for you along with the written instructions.

You will want to level the truck/trailer with the WDH before airing up the bags.
