Correct Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch for I-Beam Frame That is 69 Inches Wide

Question:

I have two separate questions pertaining to the Curt RV and Camper Hitch - C13704. 1. The description states 68 1/2 inches wide max yet in the video the description states it will fit frames up to 72 inches wide. Which is correct? I have an I beam frame trailer that is 69 inches wide on center. 2. Can the mounting brackets be flipped? I have a bumper welded to the bottom of the I beam frame that is 4 inches down. I want to mount this on the top side of the bottom of the I beam so that it sits above the bumper and is basically channeled in the center of the lips on the I beam. I have attached a rough diagram to depict what I am referring to.

The Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs, 22" to 68-1/2" Wide # C13704 is for frames that are a maximum of 68-1/2" wide so it is not the correct hitch for your 69" wide I-beam frame.

For a frame of that width you would need the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs, 22" to 72" Wide # 13703 though it has different brackets, and I've added a photo of their dimensions for you to take a look at. These brackets can be flipped (on both hitches) without issue.

If that does not work you would need to use a bumper-mounted hitch (if your bumper is rated for use with a hitch), the Curt RV Bumper Hitch # C19101 which fits a 2" x 4" bumper, or the Buyers Products RV Universal Receiver Hitch # 3371804060 for a 4" x 4" bumper.

I have added links to video reviews for you to check out as well.
