Which Tekonsha Brake Controller Install Adapter Fits 2018 Toyota 4Runner
Question:
I have at 2018 Toyota 4Runner. It came with connector under the dash for a trailer controller. A 5 wire pigtail came with the car that does NOT have the usual wire colors. Will a 3040-S connector successfully operate an old POD 7746 controller that has 4 wires of standard connector color?

The adapter you need is actually the part # 3041-P which is correct for your 2018 Toyota 4Runner. You'd have to cut off the black connector and then splice the colors of it to the wiring of your brake controller.
