The 4 Pole Knock-Out Adapter # HM47605 could install on either the vehicle or trailer side of the wiring. Since it has each style of connector on either side of it you could easily use it on a trailer or a vehicle.
It's designed to mount in a 6-way round bracket like the part # RM-910030-5 which can easily be mounted on either a trailer or tow vehicle in any 1-1/4" hole or it can replace one of the vehicles license plate lights.

You advertise that this fits in any bumper light hole. It does not fit a 2009-2014 F150 license plate light hole. Just prewarning in case your planning on it.
