Troubleshooting LED Lights Going Out When Turn Signal is Used for 1974 Volkswagen Beetle Baja
Question:
I am using 4 of the Optronics, 10 diode, oval led lights. #STL78RB. This is on a 74 beetle baja so I have also added a converter in the mix. Standard car wiring is four wire stop, turn, tail and grnd. Wired to converter to convert to two wire led lights. Flasher has been changed to digital flasher. LED lights are wired in parallel both do the same thing together. Parking lights are wired on white wire, Stop/turn from converter are wired on red wire. Lights work as suppose to , turn signals work as suppose to. Brakes work as suppose to. PROBLEM: When stepping on the brake with the turn signal on either side , all the LEDs go completely out. Release the brake and they come back on. Only happens when turn signal is on. ANY IDEAS ???

From what you described it sounds like you have have a bad ground or a short for the Optronics LED Trailer Tail Light # STL78RB. Start off by checking to make sure that all of your grounds are securely connected to a clean, bare-metal surface as even some paint can cause issues. If all of those look good then you want to check the wiring itself to make sure that there aren't any sections where the wire is damaged and replace as necessary.
This should fix your problem but if you are still experiencing issues let me know and I can help you troubleshoot further.
