How Much of The Trailer Tongue Must Be Placed Inside the Hinge of Fold-Away Coupler FHDPB330301

Question:

I am replacing a rusted swing away that is already om my trailer. I will need to cut the old one off that was welded in place. How many inches of my trailer will need to be ed into the hinged portion to bolt in place?

I checked with my contact at Fulton, and your trailer tongue will feed 3 inches into the hinge. You will basically insert the tongue until it hits the stop inside the hinge.
