Best Weight Distribution System for a 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe

Question:

I will be towing an A-Frame camper with a dry weight of 2,400 lbs and a tongue weight of 300 lbs. My total trailer weight will be around 3,000 lbs. I have the factory installed towing hitch. The Santa Fe towing capacity is 5,000 lbs. I realize this is a light weight trailer but I want to be extra cautious while on the road. Thanks for your advise.

The general rule of thumb is that if the gross weight of the trailer is more than 50% of the gross weight of the vehicle than the use of a weight distribution system is recommended. According to my research, your 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe can weigh between 3,904-4,085 lbs therefore I do recommend using a weight distribution system. The best system for the money that we have for you is the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution System part # FA92-00-0600. In order to use this system you will also need hitch ball, part # EQ91-00-6080 for 2".

Please note that weight distribution systems serve many purposes. They will help to transfer the tongue weight of the trailer towards the front axle of the tow vehicle which helps with handling and braking as well as working to reduce/prevent trailer sway which can be an issue even with lighter trailers.

I have attached a review video of this system for you as well.
