Roof Rack for 2018 GMC Sierra 2500HD Double Cab

Installing this system with rivets would make more sense for my truck, due to the fact that I want to install this system on my truck cab roof and of course it has a headliner.....dont want to take off the headliner because of the hassel. So, can I use rivets to attach the rails? Truck is 2018 GMC Sierra 2500HD, double cab. Thanks......

The track-mounted Rhino-Rack Roof Rack System # Y02-500 does need to use the included T-bolts to install; it has not been tested with rivets so there isn't a way to confirm fit or durability with a different installation method. That said, this rack system was designed for camper shells and I do not recommend putting it on the roof of your 2018 GMC Sierra 2500HD double cab. The good news is there is a roof rack system that will work which does not require drilling holes on top of your truck's roof.

I highly recommend checking out a different option from Rhino Rack which will give your '18 Sierra a functional, quiet and rugged roof rack. The rack is made up of the following parts:

- Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars # RRVA150B-2 (Black) or # RRVA150S-2 (Silver)
- Rhino-Rack 2500 Series Legs # RRRLKVA
- Custom DK Fit Kit # DK415

The crossbars are made from light but very strong anodized aluminum, which is also going to resist any type of corrosion. The rack offers security in the form of built-in locks which secure the bars to your roof and will secure any channel-mounted carriers to the bars.

The bars have a 165 lb capacity and come with a lifetime warranty. I have added a photo a customer sent in which shows the Rhino Rack on an '18 Sierra as well as a link to a video review of the crossbars for you to take a look at.
