Thank you for trusting us at the beginning stages of your research!

Trailer tires actually have a different design than passenger tires (like the light duty tires you are talking about) so you always want to stick with trailer tires for a trailer. The sidewall is more stiff because they don't have to help with a comfortable ride. This means that they are much better suited to handle the heavier trailer weights and they do a better job as dissipating heat when under a heavy load than passenger tires do. Sometimes a trailer tire will have "Light Truck" in the title but it is only compatible as a trailer tire if the "LT" comes after the tire size. An example would be the Kenda Light Truck Tire K391M - 7.00-15 LT # AM10414.

If you are wanting to keep from using foreign tires then we have the perfect solution for you! We recently started carrying Goodyear trailer tires, like part # 724857519; they are made right here in the USA and typically beat out the competition when it comes to load and speed ratings.

I have attached our selection of Goodyear trailer tires (some with wheels) for you to filter through but if you can let me know what size trailer tires you currently have I can point you in the right direction!
