Tire Pressure Monitoring System That can be Submerged in Water on Boat Trailer

Question:

I would like to use the tire minder system on a tandem axle boat trailer. Can these be submerged in salt water or am I better off with something like the Tuson Towable Tire Pressure system that mounts inside the tire?

The TireMinder RV Tire Pressure Monitoring System # TM-A1A-6 is weatherproof which means it can withstand the elements, but should not be fully submerged in water.

I contacted a representative of Tuson who said their Towable Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems can be submerged in salt water because like you said, they are mounted inside your trailer tires.

The correct monitoring system with 6 sensors will depend on the size of your valve stems. You will need part # TPMS6WIVS which works with either 0.453" or 0.625" diameter valve stems.

This system is also available with 4 senors and for that you will need part # 335TPMS4WIVS which works with either 0.453" or 0.625" diameter valve stems.

I have added links to video reviews of each of these Tuson tire pressure monitoring systems for you to take a look at.
