Hitch and Bike Rack Recommendation for 2015 Subaru WRX

I have a 2015 Subaru WRX and I am considering getting the eco hitch invisi as I want an easier option to carry 2 mountain bikes. I am looking at the Kuat transfer 2 bike platform rack or the Rocky Mount Monorail 2 bike platform. Will either of those work with the hitch and my car?

The 2-inch Class III EcoHitch # 306-X7257 is a great choice for using a hitch bike rack like the Kuat Transfer or the Rocky Mounts Monorail 2. As long as your WRX has the center knock out panel in the lower rear fascia (shown in the linked photo) this hitch will be a perfect fit and the hitch's 350-lb tongue weight rating means it has plenty of capacity for the combined weight of a hitch rack and the two bikes loaded on it. Installation instructions are linked for your reference and these include a list of the tools needed for the installation.

The Kuat Transfer 2 racks, # TS02G in gray, # TS02B in black and the two fat bike versions # TS02B-FB and # TS02G-FB, share many useful features like a foot pedal tilt mechanism, pivoting wheel cradles for steady support under the bikes and a removable sleeve that lets the racks also fit smaller 1-1/4-inch hitches. For whichever version you prefer I recommend the optional lock kit # PTSCLK12 which lets you secure both the rack and your two loaded bikes.

If your bikes are on the heavier side, pushing the 40-lb limit for the Transfer 2, and if you do not need the compatibility with the smaller hitch size I would go for the Rocky Mounts MonoRail # RKY10004. For its slightly higher cost the MonoRail gives a 60-lbs per bike weight capacity and it includes locks. It also provides a little more clearance from the hitch pin hole which is a good thing for the wider bars on mountain bikes and it comes fat-bike-ready.

Video for both racks are included to help illustrate their features and operation.
