Difference in Hidden Hitch # 87438, and DrawTite Hitch # 75531 For 2012 Mazda CX-9

I am considering purchasing a hitch for my 2012 CX9. What is the difference between the Hidden Hitch and the Draw-Tite?

Expert Reply:

The Hidden Hitch Class III 2 Inch Hitch, part # 87438, and the DrawTite Class III 2 Inch Hitch, part # 75531, for the 2012 Mazda CX-9 are the same hitch. The manufacturer of both of these hitches is the same. I am including a link to the installation instructions that will show the part numbers for both of these hitches in the top right corner of the same instructions page.

In this particular case there is no discernible difference in the two hitches, except the stickers on the hitch.

If you plan on doing some towing, I recommend the following items.

Draw-Tite Ball Mount, part # 2923
Pin and Clip, part # PC3
Tow Ready 2 Inch Hitch Ball, part # 19247, or Tow Ready 1-7/8 Inch Hitch Ball, part # 19260
Tow Ready T-One Wiring Harness, part # 118520

I am including a link to the installation instructions on the wiring harness and a link to a video of the hitch being installed on a 2010 Mazda CX-9.
