Right Hand Tail Light Goes Out When Vehicles Headlights Are On

Right tail light goes out when driving light come on

I am assuming that you mean the right hand trailer tail light goes out when you turn the headlights on in the vehicle. If that is the case then this sounds like a ground issue. In order to remedy this you are going to need to reground each tail light assembly and both the vehicle side and trailer side trailer connectors. The tail light assemblies will ground via a single wire or the mounting hardware. If they ground with a single wire then you will want to remove the wire, sand down the mounting surface, and attached with new hardware. If they ground through the mounting hardware then the same technique will be used as before but you will need to remove the entire tail light housing in order to do so.

Once the tail lights are both re-grounded then you will need to do the same for both the vehicle side and trailer side trailer connectors. Simply looking them over will not be sufficient to fix a grounding issue. This is a rather common problem with a poor ground so I believe once the above steps are completed your issue will be resolved but if not please let me know and I will walk you through some more troubleshooting procedures. In order to remake these ground connections you can use ring terminals like part # 44-5310A and self-tapping screws like part # 101131802.

Please note that if you are referring to the vehicle's right hand tail light then I recommend taking it to your local mechanic for diagnostics.
