Which is Better Weight Distribution and Sway Control or Suspension Enhancement and Sway Control

2006 Dodge Ram 1500 towing 18ft toyhauler. Can I use Stableload in combination with air bags and Sway in place of weight and sway or would i still need the weight and sway.

Suspension enhancement does help reduce sag when towing a heavy trailer, but weight distribution is the better option. The way that WD reduces is suspension sag gives you a better and safer overall towing experience. A WD system redistributes some of the trailer's tongue weight up to the front axle of the truck which helps improve the braking and handling much more than just beefing up the rear suspension.

The winner would be weight distribution with sway control over suspension enhancement and sway control.

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.

Once you know your tongue weight you will want to check out the link I attached that has all of the weight distribution systems we carry. You will be able to select your tongue weight from the filters to see what would be rated for your setup.
