Recommended E-Track Rings and Tie-Down Straps for Harley-Davidson in Toy Hauler

Question:

Can you please tell me which would work better to secure a 900 lb. motorcycle, this tie down strap or the Erickson E-Track Tie Down Ring - 2,000 lbs - 59147, I want to secure a 900 b. Harley-Davidson using either one of these along with e-track in my toy hauler. Thank you.

For your Harley-Davidson, I understand the desire to properly secure it as I would want peace of mind when transporting mine as well.

Either the Erickson E-Track Tie-Off w/ D-Ring - 2" Wide x 8-1/4" Long - 1,200 lbs # E59143 or the Erickson E-Track Tie Down Ring - 2,000 lbs # 59147 will work fine. You will not have anywhere near the weight capacity on the rings so it really can depend on your personal preference. I'd go with the # 59147 so there is no twist at the connection.

For your e-track, I recommend the Erickson Horizontal E-Track - Zinc Coated Steel - 2,000 lbs - 8' Long - Qty 1 # E19135 along with the E-Track Backing Plate - Zinc Plated Steel - 6-1/2" Long x 6" Wide - Qty 1 # BPEZ for added security.

Then for tie-downs, I recommend two sets of the Erickson Ratcheting Motorcycle Tie-Down Straps w Long Safety Hooks - 1"x6' - 400 lb - Qty 2 # EM05710. I also recommend the ShockStrap Soft Ties for Motorcycles and Dirt Bikes - 1" x 18" - Black - 1,100 lbs - Qty 4 # 297-2STB-2.

I personally also use the MaxxTow Adjustable, Self-Locking Wheel Chock - 15" to 22" Wheels - 1,800 lbs # MT70271.
