Will Heat Pump of Atwood AC Unit Affect Furnace Performance of Camper
Question:
I’m installing an Atwood AT 15028-22 ac with heat pump to replace my Carrier Air V. I know I have to install a wall thermo to control my furnace but will the furnace cut in automatically when the temp s and the heat pump CT’s out?

The Atwood Air Command Rooftop RV Air Conditioner w/ Heat Pump # AT15028-22 plays very nicely with a furnace that uses it's own thermostat. Depending on where you set the thermostat the heat pump and furnace could run at the same time but typically the furnace won't kick on until the heat pump stops working or is no longer creating heat.
Basically your furnace is going to kick on at whatever temperature you set it and won't "care" what your heat pump is doing but the chances of them both working at the same time is pretty slim.
