Question:
Looking for a basic tow bar for my jeep. What is the difference between the reese tow ready and the curt tow bars? The appear identical in specs and included parts, but price difference suggests a beefier build etc.

There really is not a big difference between the Curt Tow Bar with Adjustable-Width Arms # C19745 and Tow Ready Adjustable Tow Bar # 63180.
Each have a 5,000 lb capacity, weigh just 31 lbs, are made of steel and attach to a 2" hitch ball. The Tow Ready does have arms that adjust from 24" to 41" while the Curt adjusts from 26" to 41" but that's really it; they even attach to brackets that have the same 5-1/2" long x 2" tall dimensions.
I recommend going with the Curt for the price difference and if you don't have safety chains you will need ones like the 68" Roadmaster # RM-643 or 80" Roadmaster # RM-653.
Tow Ready Adjustable Tow Bar, 5,000 lbs
RoadMaster 68" Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables - 6,000 lbs
Roadmaster 80" Coiled Safety Cables - Double Hook - 10,000 lbs - Qty 2
Curt Tow Bar with Adjustable-Width Arms - Car Mount - 2" Ball - 5,000 lbs
