Recommended Landing Gear for 2009 Heartland Big Horn 5th Wheel Trailer

We have a 2009 Heartland Big Horn 3055RL. The front landing legs have broken the gears several times. We want to replace them with heavier ones. Our present ones are the one motor variety but we are open to either the one motor or two motor ones. Our hitch weight is 1995 lbs. Gross weight is 14,000 lbs. and dry weight is 10,735 lbs. We do not have a built in generator. What recommendation would you have?

I believe your 2009 Heartland Big Horn has the standard mounting that is 15-1/2 inches between the weld brackets. Based on the issues you are experiencing, I recommend the Reese Electric 5th Wheel Landing Gear Set - 36" Lift - 8,000 lbs # RP500708.

These legs with their individual motors are very strong and will not only help you adequately support your trailer, but will also help you more easily level your trailer as well. I've attached a diagram to assist with the installation of the switches for best function.
