Recommended Kit to Add Disc Brakes to Trailer With 3,500 lb Axles

Question:

I have an EZ Loader single axle trailer with the 3500# GAWR axle capacity and torsion system. The trailer doesn’t currently have any brakes but there are already flanges on the spindles. I want to install disc brakes in the trailer and am looking for a kit that comes with everything including the actuator. Can you please recommend a kit that fits the requirements of my project? Thanks.

There is a kit available that will give you everything you need, but it is important that you make sure you have a 4-bolt brake mounting flange, your bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2 and your spindle is compatible with inner bearing # L68149 (1.378" inner diameter), outer bearing # L44649 (1.063" inner diameter) and grease seal # RG06-050 (1.719" inner diameter). If you are unsure you need to use a digital caliper such as # PTW80157 and measure your spindle where the bearings and seal ride, as shown in the accompanying diagram.

If so, the perfect kit for you is the Titan Disc Brake Kit and Leverlock Actuator # T4843100. This kit comes with an actuator for use with disc brakes, two hub and rotor assemblies with the bearings, races and seal, two disc brake calipers and a hydraulic line kit for your brakes.

Should your spindle have different measurements feel free to let me know and we can still set you up with all the correct parts.
