How to Pick Out Axles and Leaf Springs for Trailer with 4k Capacity and Tandem Axles

Hello, I am designing a prototype for a company dealing in RVs, and I am trying to properly a tandem axle assembly for it! The trailer is 24foot long including the tongue and 8foot wide, and altogether will weigh roughly 4000# the whole point is being very lightweight. I am hoping one of your experts can help me figure out what size axle, leaf spring, equalizers etc I will need! I can answer any questions you might have as well. Thanks!

You are going to need to know a few dimensions of the axle your trailer will need as well as the capacity it needs to be to pick out the correct one. First measurement needed is the spring seat to spring seat center dimension for the axle you'll need. This dimension is where the axle will attach to the trailer frame so you'd want to measure from the center of one frame channel to the next. Next you'll need to know where you want the center of the wheels to be. That dimension is referred to as hub face to hub face.

If you check out the picture I attached you'll get an idea what these pictures represent.

We only carry a select few axles but I attached a link to a page that has the best options for your 4,000 lb trailer.

For a 2k rated spring we have the part # SP-169275 and then for a hanger kit we have the part # AP233 which would work well.
