For your 5-1/2-foot bed 2014 Silverado 1500 I suggest the Draw-Tite Gooseneck hitch # 9465-54 along with the Offset Ball # 19308 and wiring harness # 20110. An install video is included for you.

For a trailer brake controller I suggest the highly-reliable Prodigy P3 # 90195 along with the quick-connect install harness # 3016 which plugs in under the dash. The P3 offers easier installation and set-up than most other controllers and it has a legendary reputation for reliability. An install video for the P3 is included for you too.

Some air bag kits will work with an in-bed hitch but others will not. If after towing a few times you find you need some rear suspension help you might consider adding a SuperSprings Custom Suspension Stabilizer Spring Kit # SSA28 which fits both 2WD and 4WD trucks. These stabilize your OEM springs and keep them from twisting; they reduce sway and prevent sagging, which is perfect for towing or hauling heavy loads. This kit offers adjustability to suit your towing load but the installation is much easier than air bags and is also maintenance free.
