Helpful Expert Reply:

I recommend going with a grease specifically made for marine applications and disc brakes, such as the LubriMatic Marine Trailer Wheel Bearing Grease # L11402.

This grease is made from a water insoluble formula with a 550 degree drop point and would be the perfect grease for the disc brakes on your boat trailer.

Question:

Are you sure about the 11402 and not the 11380. Lubrimatic gave me the 11380 stock number?? Thanks

Helpful Expert Reply:

The Marine Trailer Wheel Bearing Grease # L11402 will work for your disc brakes; however, the Wheel Bearing Grease for Disc and Drum Brake Applications # L11380 will also work.

Both of these greases are rated GC-LB, which is the highest performance classification offered by the National Lubricating Grease Institute. The biggest difference is that the marine bearing grease # L11402 is a water insoluble formula and has a drop point temperature (the temperature at which the heated grease will begin to flow through an opening) of 550 degrees while # L11380 has a 500 degree drop point.
