Availability of Replacement Remote for Fan-Tastic Vent Model 6600 with 417RF Remote

Question:
Hi, I have a fan-tastic model 6600 vent with the 417RF remote. The remote is broken and I need a replacement. Does the newer oval remote work with this model 6600 vent. Concern is that within your blog I seen two different answers to this question. What is the correct answer, as the square remote I have is clearly RF. Please advise.

I spoke with my contact at Fan-Tastic Vent regarding your model 6600 vent with the 417RF remote. She did confirm that the current model remote # FV9068-81 will not work with your vent model. The original remote for your vent is no longer available.
In order to utilize a remote control, you will indeed need to upgrade the vent assembly to the Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent # FV807350.
