Replacement Water Heater Option for 1974 Winnebago M-22 Travel Trailer

Question:

Ive acquired a vintage 1974 Winnebago M-22 travel trailer. Whoever had it before removed the water heater and never replaced it. I cant seem to find a gas line going to the compartment where it sat, so Im assuming it was only an electric one. I want to replace it with either a straight gas one, or a gas/electric combo. I can have it plumbed for the gas, and in the jumble of wires under there, itll sit next to the furnace, or interior heater, so I think I can find wire to connect the electric side of it to. What I need to know is what size water heater I can cram in there without having to customize the space. It LOOKS like itll take a standard 6 gallon model, at least. I cant locate a parts list for the trailer nor a manual that might list the original water heater specs. I dont know if you guys will have more luck than Ive had with this problem, but if you can help me, let me know. Thanks!

Best option would be to measure the dimensions of the area to see what water heater would fit best.

Our 6 gallon gas and electric Atwood Water heater part # AT96117 measures 12-1/2" tall x 16" wide x 18" deep. If you have the room for it this would work great.
