Replacement for Mastercraft Boat Trailer Reliable Model ACT-6k Disc Brake Compatible Surge Coupler

Question:

Hello, I have a 2003 Mastercraft tandem axle, 4 disc brake, boat trailer with the original Reliable ACT-6K surge brakes actuator. Reliable does not make replacement parts any longer. Is there another manufacturer that offers a swap outinch actuator that would fit in the reliable outer member? Thanks

For your 2003 MasterCraft trailer, the replacement surge brake actuating coupler you need is the Titan Swing-Away Actuator w/ Electric Lockout # T4839100 based on what I can find online. This coupler is designed for disc brakes and has a capacity of up to 7,500 lbs. It is a bolt on assembly for a 2 inch hitch ball.

I've attached a video review of this coupler and it mounts to 3 inch wide channel tongues. If you have a 3x3 inch channel, you will need two spacers # T4842100, and if you have a 3x4 inch channel you will need a single spacer. A 3x5 requires no spacers.

If you do not need the swing away, then the # T4500600 is the correct replacement for a manual lockout. If you want to add the electric lockout, you would use # T4748800.

Question:

Thanks for responding so quickly. Do you have the measurement between the two pivot/pin holes? Looking for the center-to-center dimension on those holes to make sure it will line up on the existing points on the trailer.

Sure thing. The center to center measurement between the pin and hinge center on center is 3-1/2 inches. I've attached a photo to assist.
