Question:
I bought this light to go on my receiver and after I got it all hooked up and got in it all worked fine in the driveway but as soon as I got on the road it kept lighting up on the dash that the trailer was connected then disconnected and back and forth. Then it would tell me that there was a tail light and turn signal malfunction. I finally pulled over and unplugged it, then went into the trailer settings and put it on no trailerinch but it still does it. Please any and all information that will allow me to plug this back in and have it working properly working will be greatly appreciated.

A lighted hitch cover such as your # 86065 will cause Ford trucks from 2015 and up to think there is a trailer connected. To solve this problem you are going to need to hardwire a 4-way connector such as the Hopkins # HM48030 to a powered circuit on your truck different from the one circuit that is currently being used to to power your trailer lights; for example you would need to run the power wire of this 4-way to your F-150's headlights.
Your other option, of course, would be to forgo a cover that lights up and instead replace it with one that does not light up such as # CR-211 or # AUT-FOR-C
