Selecting the correct ball mount (or weight distribution shank) in order to keep your towed trailer level is important since level trailers tow much better. I linked a helpful article that explains how to measure to find the ball mount/shank with the correct amount of drop.

I also contacted Jayco to see if they could tell me the coupler height on the JayFeather 22RB with its standard tire size. I was able to speak to a tech who advised the ball coupler height is 21-inches.

Just measure your hitch receiver opening height, from the ground to the TOP of the opening and subtract the 21-inches from that and you will have the amount of drop you need. If your 23-inch measurement was to the top of the receiver opening then you will need a ball mount/shank that provides 2-inches of drop, such as # RP54970 from Reese or # EQ90-02-4300 from Equal-i-zer.
