Recommendation to Attach Rightline Gear Cargo Hatch Saddlebag to 2018 Subaru Outback Wagon
Question:
Im looking at a cargo bag that attaches to the roof rack and rear hatch. Do you recommend using these straps instead of wrapping around the sides? Rightline gear cargo saddlebag.

It sounds like you are considering adding something like the T-Style Hood Loops # MPG308 by Malone to attach the Rightline Gear Cargo Hatch Saddlebag # RL100B90 to your vehicle. Just let me know if this is not the case. While there isn't a reason that these Quick Loops couldn't be used, I do recommend sticking with the included straps on the bag by attaching them to the roof rack crossbars on your Outback Wagon. This is simply going to provide a much stronger connection point for the cargo bag, especially if you creep up close to its 100 pound capacity.
I really like the design of this cargo bag, as it provides 13 cubic feet of space without the drag and wind resistance of a traditional rooftop bag. I have attached a short video demonstration on this product, along with the written installation instructions that you can also take a look at.
