Recommended 5th Wheel Hitch for 2017 Ford F-350 with Factory Rail Kit and Revolution Pin Box

Question:

I recently purchased a new fifth wheel for the first time. I have a 2017 Ford F350 crew cab 6.7L diesel, with factory fifth wheel prep package, and the 6.75foot box. The fifth wheel I purchased has a reese revolution pin box installed from the factory and a GVWr of 10,920lbs. I was looking to purchase a Curt A20, with the Ford puck system legs. I am just concerned with clearance with the cab of my truck with this set up not being a slider. Will this set up work?

The Curt A20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch with Ford OEM Legs # C16034 referenced in your question will work perfectly on your 2017 Ford F-350 that features the factory rail kit. The interlocking 2-jaw system will provide excellent jaw-to-king-pin contact and its 20,000 pound towing capacity is more than enough to handle your new fifth wheel.

Since your trailer features the Reese Revolution pin box, you will not have to worry about any clearance issues between it and the cab of your truck. The Revolution pin box (also called the Sidewinder in the aftermarket world), actually moves the pivot point 22 inches toward the rear of your truck. This provides more cab clearance than just about any sliding fifth wheel hitch, allowing the use of a fixed hitch without any problems.

The only thing you will want to add to this setup is the Sidewinder Wedge # C16992. This custom wedge will be bolted onto the trailer's Revolution pin box to prevent the king pin from rotating in the Curt A20 hitch. I have attached a short video demonstration on this product so you can get a better idea as to how it works.
