Does the HydraStar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator Part # HBA16 Need a Separate Battery

Question:

Will the HBA-16 work on the trailer battery or does it need its own. If it does, can you explain why? I know one comes with the kit HS381-9067. I just want to know if it is needed. Thanks

The HydraStar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator part # HBA16 will receive power from the breakways switches battery. The 12 volt power circuit on the 7-way trailer connector will then be used to charge the breakaway switches battery. I have attached a photo of the electrical schematics of the actuator for you.

The HydraStar Marine Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator w/ Breakaway and 7-Way RV Harness part # HS381-9067 comes with a breakaway switch and battery but if you already have a 7-way harness on the trailer than you can just use the Tekonsha Push-To-Test Trailer Breakaway Kit with Built-In Battery Charger part # 50-85-313.
