Recommendation For Hanger And Shackle Spacing For 26 Inch Leaf Springs

Question:

How far apart should hanger eyes be for these 26” leaf springs? I’m seeing conflicting responses in other threads. Should the shackle point inward, outward, or straight up with no load on it? I’m thinking I need to space the hangers about 1/4” - 1/2” closer together than the spring distance. So for a 26” spring, the hanger eyes should be 25 1/2” - 25 3/4” apart. Correct? Is there a difference in ride between these options?

I contacted the manufacturer to confirm what you need to do for installation of the 4-Leaf Double-Eye Springs, Item # e27SR. The hangers should be spaced at approximately 30-1/4 inches for 26 inch leaf springs. The shackle point from the bottom of the equalizer should be pointing upward for the front and back at about 60-70 degrees.
