Could Trunk Bike Rack and Hitch Cargo Carrier Both Be Installed on 2016 Subaru Impreza at Same Time

Hi, I have a 2016 Subaru Impreza hatchback. I put a Curt trailer hitch and cargo carrier. I was thinking about getting a Saris Bones as well. I haven’t seen many pictures with both on a Subaru so I was wondering if you could comment on how they might work together. I’m hoping bikes on the Bones wouldn’t interfere too much with gear on the cargo carrier.

What you are wanting to do is somewhat possible but it's not a question we get very frequently so that would be why it would be hard for you to find info on.
It is hard for me to say for sure that what you are wanting to do since there are several variables we don't know like what you plan to carry on the carrier, how tall the carrier would be, is there a rise on the shank of the cargo carrier. The biggest issue would be if the carrier is carried too high and the bikes would hang too low to make carrying the bike possible.
We had the chance to install a Saris Bones # SA805BL on a 2015 Subaru Outback Wagon and with a roadbike that hangs pretty low I could potentially see some clearance issues with a carrier installed at the same time. Check out the install video and picture I attached for more info. If you had a bike with smaller wheels and a carrier with no rise to the shank you might be in luck though.
