Solution for Trailer Axle with Drop Spindle that Sits Too Low for More Ground Clearance
Published 10/31/2017 >
Question:
Have a tandem axle boat trailer that drags on everything and am looking at ways to get it higher off the ground. Needing +/- 2 of lift. It has a square 2x3 axle under it. It has 25 1/2 long leaf springs with 4 leafs each. From CL of bolt to bottom of leaf springs is 3.5 under load. How do I get the most economical lift out of it? 1. do they make leaf springs with more drape dimension d 2. do they make lift blocks and new U bolts for between the springs and axle? 3. can I decrease the connector length at the middle equalizer to get some lift? 4. can I get a bigger equalizer bar l shape to push springs down? Thanks.

Square axles are pretty uncommon for trailers so there aren't as many options for lifts for them. By your pictures you have a drop axle that is designed to allow the trailer to sit lower to the ground. Your best option is to go with an axle that does not have that built into it and your trailer will sit up much higher.
You are going to need to measure your current axles in a few places to get the correct one.
You will need to measure from hub face to hub face and then from the spring seat centers. You will also need to know what bolt pattern you have on your current hubs. I attached a help article on how to determine this as well.
I also attached a link to a page with all of the axles we carry.
