Comparing the Curt Q24 and Q25 5th Wheel Hitches for a 2017 Ford F-350 with the OEM Prep Package

Question:

I have a 2017 Ford F350 with factory installed rails. Im looking at the Curt C16545-16017 and the Curt C16039 and trying to figure out the difference between the two as the specs seems identical? Can you please clarify? Thanks

The only difference between the Curt Q24 # C16545-16017 and the Curt Q25 # C16039 that you referenced is the weight capacity of the hitch head.

The Q24 hitch head, part # C16545, is rated for 24,000 lbs while the Q25, part # C16565, is rated for 25,000 lbs.

The reason that the part numbers you are looking at have the same weight capacity/rating is that the hitch legs that fit the OEM Ford Super Duty Towing Prep Package # 16017 are only rated for 24,000 lbs. Since it is the limiting factor for the Q25, that hitch head's weight capacity/rating is decreased.

They are the same exact hitch head with only a 1,000 lb difference. The only reason that using the Q25 would be beneficial is if you happen to use it with different legs in the future that are rated for at least 25,000 lbs.
