What Is Right Tire Pressure For Trailer Tires Size 205/65-10

Updated 10/19/2017 | Published 10/17/2017

Question:

Have tires that are 20.5x8x10 and sidewall says 50psi at 1100lbs per axle. The tag plate on side of trailer says for tires of previous size, the psi is 70 at 2200lbs per axle on type C Carlisle tire. Which should you go by? Will be hauling 3 4-wheelers.

Expert Reply:

It sounds like you have tires that are sized 205/65-10 similar to the Kenda Bias Trailer Tire Item # AM3H360 which has a maximum load capacity of 1,100 lbs at 50 psi (Links to other selections included). When it comes to the right tire pressure, always go with the recommendation on your tire. Do not go beyond 50 psi with your current trailer tires and do not exceed total load capacity. Also, never inflate a tire beyond its listed and rated psi capacity because this is not safe.
