Ground Clearance on Curt C12225 vs Draw Tite 36241

Which of these two hitches will offer GREATER ground clearance after installation? I have an 02 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. On level ground, I have only 9.5inch of clearance from the bottom of the fascia to the ground to begin with. I like the CURT because it has the greater tongue weight. Please let me know how far below the fascia these hang, or whatever the ground clearance is after installation. Im interested in the one with the MOST ground clearance. Thank you

We had the opportunity to test fit hitches on the Pontiac Grand Prix and found that the hitch with the greatest clearance was the Draw-Tite hitch, # 24660. From the bottom of the receiver to the ground was right around 9" on this hitch. The other two hitches, Draw-Tite # 36241 and Curt # C12225 both had just 7 1/2 inches of clearance from the bottom of the receiver to the ground.

So, your best bet will be Draw-Tite hitch # 24660. For the installation, it will be helpful to have a nylon tube brush like # 814092 and some spray lubricant for cleaning out the weld nuts on your vehicle. It may take several attempts because salt and road grime can become almost cemented into the weld nuts on older vehicles. You will also need some Silicone Gasket Maker like # LT37467 for the installation.
