For your Atwood Brake Actuator w/ Manual Lockout - Drum Brakes - Black - 2" Ball - Bolt On - 6,000 lbs # AT82543, the master cylinder you need is the Replacement Master Cylinder for Atwood Trailer Brake Actuators - Drum 85841 (which has been discontinued). So you will want to check to see if it is the actual cylinder or just the gasket that needs replaced. Let me know as I'm happy to assist.

Question:

thanks for your help I was looking at my brakes system and it looks like the cap for master cylinder has no threads any advice in how can I fix this ? I need a big tap to Rethread this or it is just a plastic plug that goes on top? Thanks and regards

With this model, the top of the coupler is the lid of the master cylinder and the bolts go through the top and hold the master cylinder to it with the gasket in between. The Replacement Master Cylinder Cap and Cap Gasket part # A87478. This has a threaded diameter of 3/4 inch. All of our replacement caps are threaded.

Unfortunately we don't have a tap that large to help rethread your cover. You would need to purchase the entirely new coupler # 82541.

You're welcome and I'm happy to help. What you are referring to is a fold-away tongue and that is not uncommon on boat trailers or small utility trailers. When you use a surge brake actuator with this style tongue, you do need a flexible brake line like the Titan Hydraulic Brake Line with Fittings - 18-25/32" Long # T0776500.

Since you are looking to replace your coupler now, you may be interested in the Swing-Away Actuator w/ Manual Lockout - Bolt On - Drum - 2" Ball - 7,500 lbs # T4839000. This will give you the coupler and the replacement hinge for fold-away tongue. If you go this route you will need 2 spacers for a 3x3 or 1 spacer for a 3x4 channel tongue using # T4842100. If you use a flex line with this actuator, you probably only need the shorter 13 inch flex # T0777300.

If you choose to replace your entire brake line assembly, you can use the Kodiak Hydraulic Brake Line Kit - Single Axle - 18' # 18SI-BLKIT or tandem axle # 24TA-BLKIT.
