Recommended Black Tank Valve Replacement on 2018 Jayco Camper

Question:

Camper is Jayco 21ft 2008. Hope I can explain this....black tank valve is up under the unit and starting to stick badly when trying to open. Between that and the bayonet capped end is a Y where the grey drain comes in. The grey line, obviously, has its own valve before the Yinch junction. I dread having to crawl under the unit and try to remove this valve from the middle of the black drain pipe. Can I just cut a few inches off the very end of the system and install this unit on the end? If so, how would it attach? I see threads on the backside of it. I could just open the current valve and leave it. Hope this is somewhat understandable? Thanks

I believe that I understand what you are saying and recommend you use the Valterra Bladex Waste Valve for RV Black Water Tank - 3" Hub to 3" Lug # T50 instead of the threaded # T50C. You would simply use the Valterra ABS Solvent Cement - 1/4 Pint # A05-0303 to bond the two pieces.

Question:

Thanks, but I just looked again and I was mistaken. The current endpiece is a male fitting and is 3.5 O.D. There doesn't seem to be anywhere to cut off for a new piece. See image.

Thanks for the picture. The good news is that now that I see it, it is a really easy fix. You will simply remove the 4 screws and replace the valve with the Valterra Waste Valve Body w/ Flexible Cable for RV Black Water Tank - 72" # TC372 which will allow you access to that valve remotely once installed. It will only require swapping the valve and only takes the 4 screws to do so and then mounting the cable.
