Question:

2017 Chevy 3500 8ft bed with factory fifth wheel prep. Is there an adaptor to the hitch into the pucks, similar to the Rams adaptor plate? Or do you have to buy a hitch that s directly into the pucks system?

I have a solution for you, but there are no 5th wheel rail adapters that will work with the 2017 Chevrolet 3500 with the 8 foot bed.

For you to mount a 5th wheel hitch to your truck, I recommend one of the OEM prep package ready hitches like the Curt A20 5th Wheel Hitch, # C16064. This 5th wheel hitch is designed to fit right into the factory pucks of your 2017 Silverado truck. The Curt hitch has a gross towing weight of 20,000 lbs. The A20's fully articulating head will provide controlled coupling and a stable, quiet ride.

If you already do not have one installed, I recommend the Bargeman 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90- Degree Wiring Harness, # 50-97-410. This wiring harness will provide for a hassle free hook up between your 5th wheel trailer and your truck. This wiring harness will retain the use of your factory harness.
