New Hub Assembly For Trailer With Bearings L44549

Question:

I need to replace the hub assembly on a 1992 Performance Boat Trailer. Weight capacity is 2090 lbs according to NYS trailer registration It has a 4x4 bolt pattern. When I removed the old hub left side the bearings were L44549. Hub assembly AKIHUB-440-2-G-2K seems to be the part I want galvanized, designed for marine use but the bearings with this were L44649. Will this assembly work, even though the hearings are different? I plan to replace both sides. I have not removed the hub assemblies on both sides to confirm both sides have L44549 bearings. Also, what Bearing Buddies should I use?

Bearings L44549 have a 1-1/16 inch inner diameter, which is the same as the 1.063 inch inner diameter of bearings # L44649. That means the assembly you referenced, # AKIHUB-440-2-G-2K, will work. It is designed for 2,000 lb axles with BTR spindles, has a 4 on 4" bolt pattern and accommodates wheels that are 8" to 12".

The assembly comes with the required bearings, races and grease seal, though for Bearing Buddies you would want # BB1980A-SS. I've added links to a video review and install of the Buddies for you to take a look at.
