Question:
I need an axle that would fit a 4x8 trailer/ It is 46 5/8 from spring to spring. Would like to get into the 2,000 lb range. But it wold appear that I would need to make some alterations on my trailer to get an axle to fit. Also what i have now is a 4 on 4 hub and would like to keep the same if possible. I did re-build the frame to beef it up last year.

I have a solution for you, but none of the straight axles with a 2,000 lbs capacity that we carry have the 46-5/8 inches spring mount to mount measurement.
I recommend that you take a look at the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System, # A20RS440. With the Timbren system you will do away with the single straight axle and open up your under the trailer clearance. Also, the Timbren design with its two separate axles will give you a trailer with an independent suspension which will reduce trailer roll during cornering.
The Timbren system will include hubs that have the 4 on 4 inch wheel bolt pattern. There will be no needed to change hubs or wheels.
