Electric Trailer Brake Controller Recommendation for a 2005 Dodge Dakota
Question:
I have the factory tow package that came with truck. Will this unit #90160 work with this?

Expert Reply:
On your 2005 Dodge Dakota with the factory tow package, if the tow package included a 7-Way trailer connector, all you will need is the brake controller of your choice, in this case # TK90160, and wiring adapter # 3020-P.
The plug on the adapter connects to a factory plug located under the dash, to the left of the steering column taped to another harness near the emergency brake pedal. Then, just match the blunt cut wires on the harness color for color to the wires on the brake controller, mount the controller according to the installation instructions, linked for reference, and installation is complete.
