Recommended Wiring Harness For 2016 VW Golf GTI

Question:

I have a 2016 VW GTI, which should be the same as a 2017. I do not want to cut and splice into my harness. Your web page for part #C56373 says excluding GTI and R models but your expert in the review refers a 2017 GTI owner to this very harness. Does it or does it not work for a GTI? I have also read of another 2016 GTI owner using the T-One #118646 plug and play harness which also says it excludes GTI and R models with no problem whatsoever. Why so much confusion over the GTI model? Thanks.

For your 2016 VW Golf GTI, the confirmed fit for you if you don't want to splice into your wires, the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness w/ 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector and Installation Kit # 119250KIT would be the way to go. It requires no splicing.

The fact that people have used other models is not a surprise, but they are taking a risk because those harnesses are not confirmed to fit and could cause electrical issues. The GTI models have been separated from the other models by the manufacturer and excluded as a fit for a reason.

The C56373 has been discontinued and is not a confirmed fit.
