Does Fascia/Bumper Cover have to be Removed to Install Curt Trailer Hitch on a 2017 Honda CR-V

Question:

Does the bumper cover need to be removed to install the hitch? There is very little room to get the hitch frame up behind the bumper. The Curt instructions are not clear on how to place the hitch in this position.

For Curt trailer hitch # C13397 it is recommended to remove the lower fascia if your 2017 Honda CR-V has the hands-free liftgate option so that it and the sensor bracket can be trimmed. Regardless though removing the fascia or at least loosening it will make it easier to get the hitch into position.
