To install a 7-Way at the rear of your 2016 Ford F-150 you will need to install the Universal Installation Kit # ETBC7. This will simply plug into the existing 4-Way on your F-150 and then you will need to run the wiring for the 12V Power and to your Brake Controller. I have attached a video of this kit being installed on a similar 2016 F-150.

The attached video also includes the installation of the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 brake controller. If you are needing a brake controller this is the brake controller that I recommend going with since it is very easy to install and the LCD makes it easy to use. You will simply plug this controller into the connector under your driver's side dash using the adapter # 22292.

I recommend going with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C14017 for your F-150 since it is a Class IV hitch with a 2 inch receiver. It has the highest weight capacity out of all of the hitches available for your F-150. It has 1,000 lbs Tongue Weight (TW) and 10,000 lbs Gross Trailer Weight (GTW). When using a Weight Distribution (WD) system those numbers are bumped up to 1,200 lbs TW and 12,000 lbs GTW.

To tow you will also need a ball mount and hitch ball. I have attached a helpful article on how to measure to make sure that you choose the correct options for your application. Since pickups can be used for many different towing applications it might be more useful to get a ball mount that is adjustable like the 180 Hitch 2-Ball Mount # LTB8-2. To secure this investment you can use the Locking Dual Pin Assembly and Hitch Pin Set # WS06.
