Recommended Load Range D Tires For Forest River Salem 22 Foot Travel Trailer

Is a higher load range tire a better option when replacing tires? I need to replace the factory tires on my Forest River Salem 22foot travel trailer which are Transmaster ST205 75R15 load range C. Id like to upgrade to a load range D but heard that changing from 50 to 65 PSI could be an problem for the factory wheel. Is this a concern?

Changing the load capacity of your tires is not normally a problem for the load capacity of your factory wheel, but it is possible. The valve stem will sometimes limit the correct psi, and you want to make sure you have the max psi listed on the tire when the tire is cold for proper function.

Since it is a possible concern, I recommend replacing both. To match your existing wheels look and give you the updated load capacity, I recommend the Taskmaster ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire w/ 15" Silver Mod Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 - Load Range D # A15R645SMD. These combos have a load capacity of 2150 lbs at 65 psi. They are rated for speeds of up to 81 mph and have a tread depth of 9.8/32 inch.
